Description: The 'Descriptive and Historical Account of the Town and County of Newcastle-upon-Tyne' by the Newcastle author and publisher Eneas Mackenzie. It contains historical and contemporary accounts of the religious, civic, educational and cultural buildings and institutions of the city in the early nineteenth century.

A New History of London
Including Westminster and Southwark

John Noorthouck (1773)
Description: Noorthouck's 'New History' falls into two parts. The first is a narrative history of London from the Roman period until the 1770s. The second gives accounts of the present state of the City (organised by ward), and of much of Westminster, Southwark and Lambeth. It also includes an Appendix of charters and statutes relating to the City, and lists of mayors, bishops and other officers.
