cOGC 5 Baltimore, Wednesday, October 1.1902. Board met; present, Messrs. Upshur, Morris & Fowler. The minutes of the previous meeting, September 29,1902, were read, approved and adopted. Trial. Officer John Wilkinson, Eastern District, reported for having been five minutes late for roll-call, 6 A.M., September 28, 1902, was excused. Donations. 1 Upon the recommendation of the Captain of Detectives, it was ordered that Detective William L.F.Miller, be permitted to retain five dollars, donated to him by Matthew Fenton, for having located him and taken him to his home in Baltimore County September 27,1902. Upon the recommendation of the Captain of Detectives, it was ordered that Detective Thomas F.Hogan and Officer Hobbs, Northwestern District, be permitted to retain twenty-five dollars donated to them by John A.Denton, Ellicott City, Md., for the arrest and conviction of Charles Clay and Joseph F.Jay, charged with assault &c., upon J.Milton Denton, December 31,1901 Assignment of Magistrates. The Secretary reported that on September 30,1902, Justice Daniel J.Loden, V/estern District, had notified the Department he wished to be absent from his duties from 8 A.M., October 1, until 8 A.M., October 3,1902, and that he, the Secretary, had assigned Additional Justice Neilson Poe, Jr., to sit in the place of Justice Loden during his absence. The action of the Secretary, as above, was approved. Justice J.McKenny White was assigned to sit as Magistrate for Juvenile causes, fromr8 A.M., October 2,1902, to 8 A.M.,
