was no longer an active member of the Police Force, and no action could be taken upon his request. Appointment of Sergeant. To fill the vacancy in the grade of sergeant, caused by the retirement of Sergeant Max Mauer, which took effect from and after this date, the Board, by the vote as given below, appointed eligible Joseph F.Norton, a sergeant; said appointment to take effect October 17,1902. The vote upon the appointment of Joseph F.Norton, a sergeant as above, was:- President Upshur, Yea, Commissioner Morris, Yea, Commissioner Fowler, Yea. Transfers. It was ordered that the following transfers be made, to take effect October 17,1902, viz:- That Sergeant Frank H.Bromley be transferred from the Central to the Northern District, vice Sergeant Max Mauer, retired. That Sergeant Michael J.Hughes, be transferred from the Southwestern to the Central District, vice Bromley. That Sergeant Joseph F.Norton be transferred to the Southwestern District, vice Hughes. Reinstatement of Officer Clinton P. Schenkel. The Board, by the following vote, re-considered the action taken by it on October 3,1902, by which Officer Clinton P.Schenkel was dismissed from the force. The vote upon re-consideration of action in case of Officer Clinton P. Schenkel, as above, was as follows:- President Upshur, Yea, Commissioner Morris, Yea, Commissioner Fowler, Yea.
