| The following order was passed;- Whereas in its judgment the public peace and tranquilty require it, the Board of Police Commissioners for the City of Baltimore hereby Orders the closing,on Election day,Tuesday,November 4th, 1 1902, of all bar-rooms,bars,drinking houses,liquor shops and all other places where liquor is usually sold in the City of Baltimore, and forbids the selling and furnishing of liquor thereat on said Election day. It was also ordered that the Marshal be furnished with a copy of the order as above,and directed to instruct the police force to report,under penalty of dismissal from the force,all who refuse or fail to close as required,or who sell or furnish intoxicating liquor on the said Election Day for presentation to the Grand jury together with the names of any persons who may be found under the influence of liquor on the said Election day as witnesses. ---Election Advertisements.--- It was also ordered that the orders as above ,as to the closing of drinking places and the reporting of those who refuse or fail to close as mentioned,etc., be published in all the morning daily papers on October 31st,November 1st,3rd and 4th,1902, and in the afternoon dailies on October 31st,November 1st and 3rd, 1902. "See Exhibit Ho. 833.— Repairs Police Patrol Boat. Report was received from the Marshal, transmitting recommendations from the Deputy Marshal with his approval, upon the subject of repairs to the Police Patrol Boat "LANNAN". The Secretary was directed to prepare specifications in accordance with the recommendations of the Deputy Marshal, and ask for bids to do the work, as suggested.
