~>c\rn 105 Permission Granted Captain of Detectives Pumphrey To visit New York, in Connection with charges Preferred against him by the Anti-Saloon League. The Secretary reported to the Board that Captain Pumphrey desired permission from it to visit New York, for the purpose of securing testimony and witnesses in the matter of charges preferred against him by the Maryland Anti-Saloon League, as referred to in the proceedings of October 31,1902. The permission asked for by Captain of Detectives, as above, was granted. Practice of Dentistry. A report was received from the Marshal upon the subject of communication received from the Counsel of the State Board of Dental Examiners, as referred to in the proceedings of October 24, 1902. Said report, which states that the person complained of was arrested and dismissed by the Magistrate of the Northwestern District, was read and ordered filed, see Exhibit No.857. Samuel T.Hamilton Expenses of Suit against Board. A communication as follows was received having been referred by Mr. Alonzo L.Miles Counsel to the Board for its consideration. "Baltimore, November 7th., 1902. Alonzo L.Miles Esq., Counsel for Board of Police Commissioners for Baltimore City, Dear Sir: Referring to our correspondence of some weeks ago, in reference to the case of Samuel T.Hamilton vs. The Board of Police Commissioners, the Court of Appeals has, within the past few days, dismissed my motion for a re-argument, and, in accordance with our understanding, I now submit to you the items of expenses, which, it was agreed, the Board of Police Commissioners would assume.
