| 314 Sergeant Michael J. Hughes be transferred from the squad at present worked by him, and assigned to the squad worked by Sergeant Parr. Said transfers to take effect at once. Upon the recommendation of Captain George League, Southwestern District, approved by the Marshal, it was ordered that Officer William T. Qwings, Southwestern District, be transferred from A. to B. Division; and that Officer George B. Bieswanger be transferred from B. to A. Division. Said transfers to take effect at once. It was also ordered that Offi cer John Weber of the Eastern District be transferred to the Northeastern District, and that Officer Henry J. Donhouser, Jr., be transferred from the Northeastern to the Eastern District; said transfers to take effect immediately. James E. Simmons, Application for Re-instatement. Application was received from James E. Simmons, who was dismissed from the force February 9,1903, for re-instatement. (See Exhibit No. 957). The application of Mr. Simmons was refused. Snow and Ice on Sidewalks. In view of complaints received by the Board upon the subject of the failure of the police to cause the occupants or owners of property to clean the sidewalks of snow and ice, it was ordered that the Marshal call the attention of the force to the provisions of Section 147, Article 48, Baltimore City Code, which requires that snow shall be cleaned from sidewalks and gutters within three hours after its fall, etc., and to warn the police that the Board will hold every officer to a personal accountability for failure to perform his duty with respect to this law. |
