| Western District from 8 A.M.,February 26th,1903, until relieved,in the place of Justice Daniel J. Loden absent on account of sickness, additional Justice Kelson Poe, Jr., having been assigned to sit at the Northern District Station-house. Donations. Upon the recommendation of the Captain of Detectives,approved by the Marshal, it was ordered that Detective Thomas r.O'Donnell be permitted to retain Five Dollars donated to him by Dr. J. T. Strickland,of Roanoke, Va., for securing information respecting his two children who had been removed from a boarding school,etc. Upon the recommendation of the Captain of Detectives, approved by the Marshal, it was ordered that Detective Thomas r.O'Donnell be permitted to retain Ten Dollars donated to him by Samuel Rosentahle for the recovery of a diamond and ruby stickpin. Upon the recommendation of the Marshal,it was ordered that Officer Richard R. Wilderson,Northwestern District, be permitted to retain Twenty Dollars donated to him by the United States Government for the arrest of a deserter from the United States Marine Corps. Request for Permission For Officers to Contest for Silver Service. Mr. William M. Gawthrop, 901 West North Avenue, called upon the Board and requested on behalf of St. Catherine's Church, Luzerne & Preston Sts., permission for Sergeant Arbin Northeastern District, and Sergeant Smith of the Northern District to contest for a silver service to be put up by the said church; the understanding being the officer who sold the greatest number of tickets should be entitled to the said service. The permission requested was refused. Poplar. William J., - Suit Against. The Board received and ordered referred to Mr. Alonzo L. Miles, Counsel, notice of suit brought by Mary E. Lewis, vs. William J. Poplar for alleged assault. |
