Horses - - Purchase of. Upon the recommendation of the Lieutenant of Mounted Police it was ordered, by the vote as shown hereunder, that horses be purchased for the Mounted Service, as follows, viz:- One from James King & Co. $125.00, less $50.00 for old horse in exchange, net $75.00 Three from James King & Co. for the sum of $150.00 each. One from Dr. Thomas W. Spranklin for the sum of $130.00 The vote upon the purchase of horses, as above, was:- President Upshur, Yea, Commissioner Morris, Yea, Commissioner Fowler, Yea. (See recommendation filed as Exhibit Ho. 965). Complaint George S. Kirkley,119 N.Greene St. A communication was received from George S. Kirkley, 119 N. Greene street, making complaint against Lieutenant William G. Scott, and Turnkey Daniel Malone of the Central District, that they intentionally and maliciously refused to send for a messenger for him, and complaining also against the Central District authorities for alleged misrepresentation of the evidence adduced before the Magistrate of the Central District Station-house at the trial of said George S. Kirkley, February 14, 1903, etc. It was ordered that the said complaint be referred to the Marshal for investigation and report. Saloon. John W. Sanks. 1417 Columbia Ave. A communication, signed C. D. James, without address, was received, lodging complaint against saloon 1417 Columbia Avenue, where the writer alleges the liquor law is violated. It was ordered that the said complaint be referred to the Marshal for his attention.
