| cOGC 353 Appointment of Probation Officer. To fill the vacancy in the grade of Probation Officer, caused by the promotion from the probationer}- list of Probation Officer John J. Woods, vice Officer Frederick Claus retired, the Board, by the vote as given below, appointed eligible Edward V. Smallwood, a probation officer; said appointment to take effect March 16,1903. The vote upon the appointment of Edward V. Smallwood, a probation officer, as above, was:- President Upshur..........Yea, Commissioner Morris.......Yea, Commissioner Fowler.......Yea. Eligible List for the Grade of Captain, Lieutenant, Round Sergeant. Sergeant Detective & Probation Officer. The Secretary was directed to request the Board of Police Examiners to prepare new eligible lists for the following grades, viz:-Captain, Lieutenant, Round Sergeant, Sergeant and Probation Officer, also for the position of Detective, in order that the said lists may be available without delay when the present eligible lists are exhausted. Complaint against Officer Kaney, Southern District. A communication was received from Gustavus A. Korb, attorney for William E. Leimbach, preferring charges against Officer Kaney of the Southern District "For malicious prosecution, cursing Mr. Leimbach, tearing his clothes and otherwise abusing him." It was ordered that the said complaint be referred to the Marshal with instructions to investigate the matter thoroughly and report with any recommendations he may have to make in the matter. Complaint as to Neighborhood of Calhoun St., between Lanvale St. & Lafayette Ave. Unsigned communication was received complaining of chickens |
