On the 23d January, 1821, before me, one of the justices of the, peace for Baltimore county, personally appeared Commodore James Chajtor, and marie oath on the Holy Evangelists, that the above statement is just and true, and that no receipts were taken from the seamen, it not being thought necessary. JNO. HARGROVE. Galley Vigilant, May 4, 1813. Sir : My crew's term of service expires this day, at noon. Please acquaint me w hat change is to be made in their future engagement; and have the kindness to send by the bearer 185 dollars, for the payment of their wages.
