Received the above in full from the Mayor. JAS. CHAYTOR. City.of Baltimore, State of Maryland, ss. On the 23d January, 1821, before me, one of the justices of the, peace for Baltimore county, personally appeared Commodore James Chajtor, and marie oath on the Holy Evangelists, that the above statement is just and true, and that no receipts were taken from the seamen, it not being thought necessary. JNO. HARGROVE. Galley Vigilant, May 4, 1813. Sir : My crew's term of service expires this day, at noon. Please acquaint me w hat change is to be made in their future engagement; and have the kindness to send by the bearer 185 dollars, for the payment of their wages. There were last evening at the mouth of the river. 3 ships of the line. 2 topsail schooners, 1 pilot boat, 1 sloop. I have the honor. &c. JAS. CHATYOR. J. A. Buchanan', Esq. Buttimore. Sir : On shipping the crew of the Vigilant, it was agreed that the men who had families should be allowed, after two weeks' service, one week's pay.
