[ 283 | daily open for the purpose of vaccination and the distribution of the vaccine matter. BALTIMORE HOSPITAL. The centre building and one wing of which are now finished, and contains an infirmary for the sick of every description, a lunatic asylum for de- ranged persons ; all of which is now in complete order, and is under the management of twelve visitors, two attending physicians, a surgeon, and eight consulting physicians. The institution is under the immediate care of an experienced stew- ard and matron. THE BALTIMOKE LIBRARY COMPANY . was incorporated in 1797, and has a ready upwards of 8000 volumes, carefully selected from every de- partment of literature, and is believed to be in as flourishing a state as any similar institution in the United States. The stock is held on shares, which pay an annual contribution oi four doL'a s ; but any person may procure the use of the books on easy terms. The library is open every day from 10 to 2 o'clk. (Sundays and a few hoilidays excepted.) The affairs of the company are managed by a board of twelve directors, of which the Right Rev. Arch bishop Carrol is President. Richd. H.
